Sustainable Development Goals
Adopted unanimously by 193 member states of the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, are a universal set of objectives to improve well-being around the world. Many companies, governments, and non-profits use the SDGs to prioritize and report on their activities as they offer a roadmap to address economic, environmental, and social challenges, building on the 2000 Millennial Development Goals. The five major areas include people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnerships, with 17 subsidiary goals and 169 targets.
In 2024 Ballard Center published their work mapping the research, classes, and resources across Brigham Young University supporting the SDGs across every college. See the results—including data insights.
